Richard Ramsey -Artistic Director, Co-Founder

Richard Ramsey was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky shortly before moving to Houston, Texas. Early in High School, he discovered a passion for Theatre, which led to his attending McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. From there, he went on to earn a BA at the University of Houston, School of Theatre, where he met his future wife, Kristina Short.

While completing his studies, he had the honor of training and performing at Massachusetts' renowned Berkshire Theatre Festival in Moby Dick -Rehearsed, The Crucifer of Blood, and James and the Giant Peach. Upon graduation, Ramsey began working professionally in the Houston area. He appeared in numerous
productions at Houston's Tony Award winning Alley Theatre including: A Christmas Carol, Twelfth Night, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

It was during this production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest that he came upon an article that sparked an interesting idea: "a script in which a man actually is institutionalized and tortured for believing that George Washington crossed the Delaware. This idea later became Aletheia Stage & Film Company's first film, "Washington's Cross." The film recieved the Audiences Choice Award at the 2004 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival and has been seen across the United States and abroad.

A lifetime church attendee, Richard became a Christian in his early twenties. Shortly thereafter, he helped form Inky Pete Productions -Sagemont Church’s Youth Drama Ministry. As head of "Inky Pete," he was able to explore his newly discovered passions for writing, directing, and Christian apologetics. During this time, he authored, and co-authored, such one-act plays as "The Reign Cycle," "The Branches," "The Oath," and "The Postmodern Pilgrim's Progress." A film version of "The Oath" , now titled The Oath of Desormeau, is scheduled for release in the summer of 2006.

In October of 2004, he and his wife became the proud parents of a beautiful daughter, Sadie Anne Ramsey.
