Aletheia Stage & Film Co. was founded by four friends in the fall of 2003. Wanting to see change in the current secular and Christian industries, the group immediately began preproduction on their first short film, "Washington's Cross."
Soon after its completion in 2004, "Washington's Cross" won the Audience Choice Award at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival and began to receive national recognition.
Looking for another challenging project, AS&F began planning their next film: a screen adaptation of Richard and Kristina Ramsey's one-act play, "The Oath of Desormeau." The film, set in post-Napoleonic France, was shot at a French Chateau in Mermentau, Louisiana in July of 2005.
"The Oath of Desormeau" recently debuted at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, where it won the Audience Choice Award and the Jubilee Award for Best of Festival; and the What You See Is What You Get Film Festival, where it was awarded "Most Dramatic Film.
